'The Sun Machine is Coming Down' at Redux
Geoff Marshall/TheDigitel

Painters Matt Phillips and Josef Kristofoletti will put on “The Sun Machine is Coming Down” dealing largely with the interaction of “pattern, color and space” at Redux from Thursday, October 30, to Saturday, December 13. There will be an opening at Redux on Thursday, October 30, from 6 to 9 p.m.

The work “will address the concept of visualizing the invisible, as Josef creates new work referencing the CERN Accelerator, the world’s largest particle physics laboratory for nuclear research.”

The CERN Accelerator has been somewhat controversial for fear of creating a black hole.

There will also be a special closing event where a catalogue with full length interviews, articles and conversations with the artists and full color images of work will be sold. That’s Saturday, December 13, from 12 to 5 p.m.

You can see lots more examples of both artists’ work at Redux. Read an interview with Matt Phillips and see more examples of his work at online art mag Daily Serving.

Redux is located at 136 Saint Philip Street in downtown.
