The 2013 guide to the nation's top schools is out from U.S. News & World Report, and Coastal Carolina makes regional rankings.

The Citadel also placed at number eight for best value schools in the South, and the College of Charleston was pegged as the number six up-and-coming school in the South.

As for South Carolina's heavyweights, Clemson University ranked 68 on a national scale and the University of South Carolina ranked 115. Clemson also earned number 11 in the category of public and private universities, and USC was at number 55 in national public universities.
