Berkeley police shoot man

Update September 7: The Post and Courier has followed up and flushed out some details of the night’s shooting.

Apparently the situation stemmed from an argument over “custody of the girlfriend’s son, who was staying with his father.”

Horace Knapp was later shot in the arm and colon. Ouch.

A man near Carnes Crossroads was shot by Berkeley County sheriff’s deputies on Thursday night after a domestic dispute around 8:30 p.m.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, no officers were reported to be injured.
