In a sea of closure, Beaufort Bookstore marking 25 years

In the same season that downtown Beaufort lost its seller of current books, another local bookstore is marking 25 years, the Beaufort Bookstore.

Independently owned by Wilson McIntosh the stake is shorter than the 31 years boasted by the defunct Bay Street Trading Co, but still very impressive, perhaps doubly so as they have no website presence.

The Island Packet's David Lauderdale has a short but nice report about the store and its roots, and the many other closures over the years around our area; take a read here.

The Beaufort Bookstore is located in the Beaufort Town Center
Shopping Plaza at 2127 Boundary Street. The store also has a downtown location, McIntosh Book Shoppe, that does more rare items but brings in the local and popular book.
