The big "MOVE THAT BUS" unveiling is today and is expected to happen some time between 2 and 6 p.m. We'll update with photos and or video as soon as we see some.

Nov. 17 p.m. update: If you want to be there for the big "MOVE THAT BUS" moment down in Savannah the festivities start at 8 a.m. Thursday.

The Savannah Morning News has the lowdown on what you can expect. A rundown of where to park and where to watch from can be found here.

Thought this also was worth a p.m. update. According to our friends over at the Savannah CVB Paula Deen is in the makeover house right now? One can only imagine what treats she has in store for the Simpson family.

Follow VisitSavannah on Twitter for more info.

Update November 17: The building continues, in fact the big unveil is scheduled for tomorrow. Check out the Savannah Morning News for the latest photos and updates.

Update November 16: And just like that there's a house. The Savannah Morning News has a nice story and slideshow of what the four-bedroom, 3,100-square-foot home is beginning to look like; check it out here.

By the way, word is the big finish and reveal is scheduled to happen on Thursday.

Update November 15: The Savannah Morning News has photos and video of the foundation being poured and the frame going up; check it out here.

Twitter also has been abuzz with Ty Pennington sightings throughout Savannah, which is funny.

Update November 14: WTOC has a video of the home destruction, what might be deep fried house parts, and one very enthusiastic reporter; check it out here

There's just a few days a few days left until the new house must be done.

Also, SouthMagazine has been tweeting updates, see them here

First reporting: Ty Pennington is within 50 miles of Beaufort. OK, now breathe.

Seriously though, a Savannah family has been chosen for ABC's popular Extreme Makeover Home Edition, and the "BUS DRIVER, MOVE THAT BUS!" Extreme Makeover bus is in Savannah right now.

Check out the Extreme Makeover Savannah website for all of the info about what's going on, including, volunteer opportunities and resulting road closures.

Most importantly, the website details the incredible story of Carmen and Jim Simpson and why they were chosen. Apparently the surprise was popped on them this morning while they were at Paula Deen's Lady and Sons.

Also, an Extreme Extravaganza is being held 7 p.m. Nov. 17 at Grayson Stadium in Savannah to help pay off the Simpson family's mortgage. Get more info on that here.
