Update February 26: There's still time before the March 3rd event and the organizers are still looking for donations — drop off locations are below.

First reporting: So the teens who might not otherwise be able to have a prom dress may, the Junior Service League of Beaufort is collecting used dresses in good condition for its annual Prom Boutique on Saturday, March 3.

Clean out your closet and donate your old cocktail, semi-formal and formal dresses to the Prom Boutique and help a local high school girl get the dress of her dreams.

The Boutique will be held at Studio B Dance Centre, 915 Greene Street in downtown Beaufort — dresses will be available to all Beaufort County high school juniors and seniors. There will be a Preview Party from 2 to 4 p.m. (by invitation only) and the event will open to the public from 4 to 6 p.m.

There are two Beaufort drop-off locations: Palmetto Smiles at 40 Kemmerlin Lane on Ladys Island and Sea Island Ophthalmology at 111 High Tide Drive in Shell Point (map of locations below).

If you have a dress you would like to donate and do not live in the Beaufort call (843) 566-4686 and the League will pick up in Savannah, Hilton Head, Bluffton, Walterboro, and Charleston.

Clean, long and short dresses in all sizes and for all seasons are requested, and tax donation forms are available at drop-off locations.
