Update October 11: The National Weather Service is reporting that 1.28 inches of rain have fallen at the air station since the start of the showers.

And today's forecast calls for a chance more of rain, but it doesn't look to be nearly as wet of a day ahead (see the radar map at the bottom).

Highs will be in the mid-70s.

First reporting: Heavy rain, wind gusts, and possible tornados and water spouts are being forecast for early this week as a pair of low pressure systems on opposite sides of Florida are poised to roll up through Georgia and South Carolina over the coming couple of days.

The National Weather Service is forecasting as much as 3 to 5 inches for area in the Lowcountry-Savannah region. They're also worried about flooding when the high tides hit near 7:40 a.m. and 7:40 p.m. along with wind gusts of up to 55 mph.

The rain is expected to pick up steadily this morning with the worst winds and rain hitting from 9 a.m. to noon with up to 1.5 inches forecast for the period.

After that, the rain chances are high throughout Monday and strong throughout Tuesday. Highs will top out in the mid 70s.
