It looks like Beaufort's budding young scientists are making some big steps in understanding the world of DNA testing.

Kate Cerve's article in March 10's edition of The Island Packet reports that Beaufort high school students learned how to use gel electrophoresis in a state-of-the-art, genetics testing laboratory. The program was accomplished through a non-profit organization called "The Greenwood Genetic Center," and is designed to introduce and encourage students to pursue new scientific career options.
