A $1 billion rebound for South Carolina's tourism industry

Main tourist destinations like Charleston have clearly benefited, but the impact in smaller areas like Beaufort has been less clear.
With a $1 billion rebound in 2010, tourists spent some $15 billion in South Carolina during the year after 2009 in the Great Recession — a great rebound to one of South Carolina's worst years for tourism growth. And early data says the trend continued in 2011 and during 2012.
Check out The Associated Press report here.
The amount of those dollars that flowed into Beaufort isn't entirely clear, but in October 2011 it seemed that Beaufort tourism was also rebounding well.
