While the F-35B is still struggling with a hot-cold relationship for its funding, progress is being made on the technical nature of the plane.
On September 14, four pilots began test landings of the plane on a deck at sea — a critical step as the plane begins to prove itself as reliable and capable of fulfilling one of its core duties.
Next to follow are slated to be expeditionary airfield trials and then field carrier landing practice.
