A Hilton Head Island man involved in a four-hour standoff with Beaufort County authorities on Aug. 18 now has been detained in Asheville, N.C.
According to the Island Packet's Aug. 19 story Kenneth E. Allison, 54, was upset his boat had been repossessed and barricaded himself in his Hilton Head Plantation home for four hours on Aug. 18. Authorities saw the man with several different weapons during the standoff. You can read the full Island Packet story here.
Fast forward two weeks and Allison was detained by police in Asheville on Aug. 31 after "behaving strangely" in a Remax realty office, according to Asheville Citizen-Times.
The newspaper reports that the owner of the Remax office learned about Allison's Hilton Head standoff when he searched for his name on the Internet.
