There are a few reports circulating today about the recent indictment of seven men and woman ranging from Charleston to Beaufort in a recent auto scam.
According to reports, the group received over $800,00 by way of provided false documentation to more than 16 banks and creditors. They will be collectively prosecuted by U.S. Attorney Bill Nettles in Charleston, South Carolina, and could face up to 35 years in prison each.
WSAV and The Island Packet both have reports on the issue, you can check those out here and here. The Charleston Post and Courier appear to have the best coverage so far though, so follow this link to give that a read.
