Update January 8: The Post and Courier offers a short follow up report with more details, noting that the alleged acts date back to 2010 with a student then between the age of 11 and 14. 

The paper also notes some details about Heyward's alleged actions. 

First reporting: Hampton County officer Larry Heyward was arrested Saturday morning on twoc charges of criminal sexual conduct with a minor.
