Beaufort City Council make progress on Waterfront Park rates

At the Tuesday, February 15, Beaufort City Council workshop the group further discussed new rates for those wishing to rent Beaufort's Waterfront Park.

As it stands now, the city rate for renting the entire park for a day is $500, or $125 to rent the pavilion for a day. Should the new proposal be implemented, rates would switch from a daily rate to an hourly one. Renting the pavilion for four hours would cost $350, $500 for six hours, or $2,200 for 12 hours.

Head over here for the Beaufort Tribune's story. — The Island Packet also has a good archive story about the possible park rate change, which goes into much more detail about the rate increases and the possible ramifications of them; check out that story over here.
