Latest pitch to thwart Ridgeland I-95 traffic cameras: Hand-deliver tickets or lose funding

Lawmakers: Hand deliver 'em or no funding for you.
In the latest turn of the ongoing battle against Ridgeland's traffic camera system, a group of state lawmakers are refining restrictions on speed ticket issuing.
While a stiff $500 penalty has been struck from a proposed law, added is a restriction that would require police officers to hand-deliver tickets to speeders on the same day of issuance. And if municipalities fail to comply, they would risk losing state funding.
Bluffton Today has a nice report on the latest turn; read it here.
Worth noting is that the bill is still in flux.
