The Jet Stream, the base-produced newspaper that serves MCAS Beaufort, has a nice report on a Marine who in December saved a family from a burning vehicle on Boundary Street.

Lance Cpl. Sloan Ulibarri, a tactical switchboard operator with Marine Wing Support Squadron, recently was recognized for his heroic actions.

Word isĀ Ulibarri was rather modest about his heroism, but the wife of the man saved wrote a letter to the base in appreciation of what he had done.
