Update: The Marine has been identified as Jonathon Crawford of Kilo Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion. Crawford was meritoriously promoted to the rank of private first class.

First reporting: Just a few hours after graduating from boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, a 19-year-old Marine from Clermont, Ohio, drowned near 4:45 p.m. on Friday off Hunting Island's beach.
