Updated July 27: The Island Packet has an update on this bizarre incident from last year where a jogger was killed on a Hilton Head beach when he was struck by a plane.
The National Safety Transportation Board has reported its findings on the incident and claims the plane was previously damaged by an earlier impact.
Reported Oct. 4: The widow of a Georgia man who was killed when he was struck by a plane while jogging along a Hilton Head Island beach is suing the plane's pilot and the aircraft manufacturer.
Robert Jones, of Woodstock Ga., was killed in what only could be described as a bizarre incident when a single-engine plane piloted by a Virginia man was forced to make an emergency landing. The plane struck Jones, who was jogging along a beach near Palmetto Dunes.
According to Courthouse News Service, Jones' wife is suing on the grounds of strict liability, reckless or malicious conduct and negligence. You can find the Courthouse News Service piece here.
