Dancing Dogs Yoga Planning Official Grand Opening in Bluffton

Shelley Lowther brought Dancing Dogs Yoga to Bluffton to meet the request of several yoga students, and in April, she opened the doors to a 1,500-square-foot studio space in the heart of Bluffton's Promenade.

"Many of my students traveled to Beaufort from Bluffton, and I wanted to give them a place to practice closer to home," Lowther said. "We are so excited about expanding to Bluffton. We are here to inspire and empower this community, and we have had a tremendously positive response."

The public is invited to a grand opening DJ Yoga Party with Mark White from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 30th at the new studio, which is located next to Bluffton Today and across from Inner Peace Massage. The cost is $25.

This freestyle heated Baptiste Power Yoga event, led by Mark White, combines a high-energy practice with soul-pumping grooves from a live DJ. Students will be challenged to deepen their practice, encouraged to connect with their community, and inspired to awaken to a life of extraordinary results. Dancing is highly encouraged.

The Bluffton yoga studio will specialize in Power Vinyasa for all levels. Classes range from 60 to 90 minutes and start as early as 6 a.m. and as late as 7:30 p.m. A free open house will take place after the DJ Yoga Party with complimentary food and beverage, where participants will have a chance to purchase discounted class packages and browse the yoga boutique.

"This is a challenging form of yoga that flows from one posture to the next," Lowther said. "It's suitable for all levels, from the athlete to the couch potato. Everyone can practice at their level, and everyone can be empowered." Dancing Dogs Yoga opened its first location in Beaufort in March 2010.
