On Sunday afternoon ladies took to the waves for the 2010 Folly Beach Wahine Classic surf competition.

The competition brought out experienced surfers from all over the Lowcountry as well as a surfing legend, Mimi Munro, a member of the East Coast Surfing Legends Hall of Fame and 1965 East Coast champion at age 13.

With spirits high, weather perfect and waves a bit small, judges scored the surfers on the length of each ride, the moves that were executed and overall grace and balance.

The Post and Courier was on hand yesterday and has a nice photo gallery from the competition as well as a post on the day's event.
