Through Friday, July 1st, C-SPAN will be in the Holy City to film segments about our rich history and literary culture for BookTV (C-SPAN2) and American History TV (C-SPAN3).

The network has been busy at work in Charleston since Monday, visiting an array of sites and interviewing community leaders, authors, and historians.

The footage is scheduled to air July 30th-31st and will be used for both American History TV and BookTV.

So what has the network checked out so far? Here are a couple of highlights:

  • Spent time with College of Charleston historian Bernard Powers
  • Visited the Lasch Conservation Center to spent time with the Hunley
  • Spent time with author and historian Robert Rosen

And C-SPAN producers can look forward to spending time at these sites:

  • The Heyward-Washington House
  • Snee Farm Plantation
  • The Old Slave Market

...and interviewing these people:

  • Edmund L. Drago
  • Stephen Hoffius
  • Jason Ryan
  • Susan Miller Williams
