Children’s Museum launches t-shirt design contest for 7th Annual Fam Jam event

The Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry is launching its first ever T-shirt Design Contest for their 7th Annual Fam Jam event to be held on April 30th.

Contestants must be 12 years of age or younger and reside in Charleston, Berkeley or Dorchester County to submit artwork.

The CML Staff and Special Guest Judge will be looking for one dynamic image to represent the 2011 Fam Jam event where the Museum’s campus transforms into a giant playground and community festival of activities, live music, food and fun for the whole family.  This year, Fam Jam celebrates the power of play.  With childhood obesity rates in South Carolina at an all time high, CML and Fam Jam 2011 are taking action. Families can enjoy the day competing in a series of fun-filled physical challenges and enjoying engaging activities that provide trustworthy and compelling information about healthy and active living.

“We are excited about bringing another element to the Fam Jam event by allowing Lowcountry children to share their creativity with us,” said Robin Berlinsky, CML Director of Education.

The winner and their family will receive a one year membership to the Children’s Museum, 10 tickets to the Fam Jam Event on Saturday, April 30th and 5 youth shirts with their design!  The winner and their family will also be introduced at the Fam Jam event during a special ceremony!

Submissions are due by Monday, March 21st at the Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry, 25 Ann Street, Charleston, SC 29403, and will be displayed throughout the Museum for judging.  The Museum is asking for all types of artwork from photography, crayon, marker, oil on canvas, watercolor, acrylic, charcoal, pencil, digital graphics and more. However, the overall size should not exceed 30x30 inches. For submission forms visit www.explorecml.org.
