New York fashion designer Cynthia Rowley celebrated the grand opening of her Charleston store -- her fifth free-standing boutique -- on Wednesday, November 20. This is a huge fashion step for Charleston, showcasing her only store in the South!

The lady of the evening was Cynthia herself. Eloquent and quirky, she happily engaged the champagned guests. She was joined by the President of Cynthia Rowley, Peter Arnold. Charlestonians Katie Long Stevenson, Anne Pope, Jane Pope, and Jeffery Rhodes welcomed Charleston's finest to the grand opening fete on King Street. And as the guests peeled off their winter coats, they revealed that this was no black dress party. A breath of fresh air! Instead fashionistas glistened in over the top outfits showcasing every color like Christmas ornaments.

Inside the store, the mirrored boutique is perfectly appointed, and decorated not only with the women's wear, bags, shoes, and accessories from her Fall 2008 collection, but also adorned by fashion drawings crafted by Cynthia herself. And men, don't fret. My eye caught the most perfect collection of button-down shirts and stylish blazers. Come one, come all.

With the opening of this high-end, fashion runway boutique, recessionistas can savor the glistening hope that these economic times will soon pass. Please Obama, please.

The store is located in the shopping district of King Street. Go visit the store and dazzle yourself at 341 King Street.
