Sibling restaurant of Queen Anne's Revenge on Daniel Island, the Buccaneer is calling it quits on September 30 in downtown Charleston after giving it a go since late 2008.
In a press release the operating company, Neighborhood Dining Group, said the pirate-themed restaurant "will be closing its doors to focus on a new concept for the space."
“We opened a large capacity family-style themed restaurant in a very difficult economy. This formula has been successful for us at the Queen Anne’s Revenge on Daniel Island since 2001, but unfortunately has not worked for us downtown,” says NDG Managing Partner David Howard. “We are disappointed but at the same time are eager to explore all of our options and look forward to announcing an exciting new concept in early 2011."
The group says it will migrate as many staff as possible from the Buccaneer to the other restaurant operations in the company.
