Powder Magazine drops admission fee to raise attendance

I'm somewhat shocked to hear that the oldest surviving public building in the Carolinas is having trouble drawing in visitors -- even without a set admission fee (donations are suggested).

The nearly 300-year-old Powder Magazine is struggling to draw in visitors, but is one of the region's most unique buildings.

So, go check it out at 79 Cumberland Street on Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
