Won't you be one of TheDigitel's advertising interns?

A new breed of ads requires a new breed of thinkers.

Charleston's TheDigitel is looking for a few self-starting, tech-savvy students to help sell a new type of online advertising.

We're readying the launch of what we've given a working name of "dynamic advertising." These ads are designed to appeal to local advertisers by being lower-cost, yet offering the ability to have an expanded, more current message than traditional advertising allows. To accomplish this RSS, Twitter feeds, and other technologies are used.

If you're interested in learning a bit more about selling local advertising, learning about emerging media technology, and want to further hone your selling and communication skills, well, shoot us an e-mail with your basic information and anything you might want to share as to why you're interested. Be sure to include any relevant experience.

Pay would be for ads sold, with the possibility of a small stipend in special situations.

Here are some key attributes:
- Familiarity with social media; particularly Twitter and Facebook.
- Knowledge of RSS feeds.
- A general tech-savvy nature.
- Ability to work independently, report back, and take direction.
- Strong social and e-mail skills.
- Plusses are graphic design skills, writing, and blogging experience.
- First-hand knowledge of a geographic area of local businesses.

In all we're aiming to find 3-to-5 folks to help us out. Each person would likely represent advertisers in a different part of town (Mount Pleasant, Park Circle, north of Calhoun, etc.)

Oh, and if you don't know what we are: We're a community Web site that puts an emphasis on connecting folks to the best in local reporting.
