Update 1/9/12: The parking lot at the Carolina Forest Recreation Center was packed last night for the Warriors game. This could be contributed to their stellar record, new venue, or community outreach.
On Friday afternoon, children from Carolina Forest Elementary School were sent home with one free kid's admission ticket for Sunday night's game in an effort to get families out and involved.

First report, 1/1/12: Sorry for the Lebron reference. I couldn't resist.
After some public outcry over the move to the North side of the Strand, the South Carolina Warriors decided to change home courts once again. This time it is the very recently completed Carolina Forest Recreation Center. According to their Facebook page:
Due to popular demand we have decided bring your South Carolina Warriors to Carolina Forest. The first game of 2012 will be held in the newly built Carolina Forest Recreation Center on January 4, 2012. We will be tipping off this Wednesday @ 7pm against the Tennessee Mad Haters. Followed by our first Sunday home game that will also be played at the CF REC on January 8, 2012. We will be facing the Tru Hope Trailblazers @ 4pm.
The Warriors are planning on making this their venue for the rest of the season. It's a great spot in that it is relatively centrally located and has easy access to Highway 31 and 501. You can see photos of the recently completed Carolina Forest Recreation Center court on the Carolina Forest Chronicle Facebook page.
The Warriors are currently ranked 3rd in the ABA Power Rankings. ABA basketball has some interesting rules to keep the gameplay exciting. Read more about them in our story, "3-D points, 6th fouls, and 4-point shots add twists to ABA games"
