The competition that blends the spirit of Iron Chef with home brewing, the Iron Brew Competition is returning for a second year.

Holy City Brewing is again running the event and registration will open during Charleston Beer Week on April 22 and registration will close May 22, when the secret ingredient will be announced (last year was honey).

The fun will come to a pinacle on August 3 with the Home Brewers Festival, where the beers will be on display, pizza available, and music.

The winner's beer will be brewed by Holy City Brewing and served at the Mellow Mushrooms in Charleston.
