Feds come down hard on S.C. cockfighting ventures (updated)

Update April 7:

A Mount Pleasant man has pleaded guilty to cockfighting charges in federal court for participating in cockfighting contests that occurred in Williamsburg County in 2008 and 2009.

Three other men plead guilty along with Charles Allbritton of Mount Pleasant. All are facing up to five years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000 on two counts.

Twenty-one South Carolina residents have been indicted on federal charges as a result of a 13-month undercover investigation into cockfighting.
