Settlement in Al Parish $66 million ponzi scheme

A federal judge approved a settlement to pay back about $9 million of the $66 million lost in a Ponzi scheme by former Charleston Southern University professor Al Parish.

The settlement doesn't promise payments to all of the scheme's 490 victims, and the payback plan is set to follow a "rising tide" model, which will first give money back to those who withdrew the least amount of money from Parish.

Any objections to the settlement will be heard only over the next 30 days. The checks will be mailed after the 30 days is over.
