Updates at the bottom:

In separate but similar incidents, two College of Charleston students who were walking alone on downtown streets were attacked from behind on Tuesday night.

The Post and Courier has the story.

The College is urging students to be aware of their surroundings and to be vigilant.

We'd also suggest you give a quick read of our earlier piece "A friendly reminder: Muggings do happen in the 'good' parts of Charleston."

Update November 17:

Charleston police have released a sketch of the man suspected of committing both attacks.

Police initially believed there were two separate attackers, but after talking with the victims the two men seem to have very similar characteristics.

Head to The Post and Courier for the story.
