On Saturday, October 15th, Fire Station Six, located on 38th Avenue North in Myrtle Beach, will host a Fire Prevention Expo in an effort to teach children about fire safety.

The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. and finish up at 2:00 p.m.   Children will be able to take fire truck rides, see the firefighters demonstrate techniques such as a rope rescue, enjoy food, and try a firefighting simulator.  For a full list of activities, events, and details, check out Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue's event page on Facebook

On a personal, I've been to this event when my family were a bit younger and it's great.  I have so much appreciation for the amount of time our local rescue workers spend educating the children of our community.  The gift of time and wisdom they're giving could save their lives one day.  Thank you, sincerely.
