Essay contest for young registered voters awards $1000

First report:  The Democratic Women’s Council of Horry County is holding their 5th annual essay contest that will award one high school senior or undergraduate college student $1,000 scholarship.

The essay should address "the far-reaching effects of the 2012 election, and why electing Democrats matters more than ever" and be between 1000 and 1500 words.  To enter, you must be a registered voter and the deadline for submissions is March 30, 2012.  For more information about the contest, check this write-up by the Sun News.  You can also contact Essay Committee Chairwoman Milly Vaughn by email at mvaughn3@sc.rr.com.
