Lowcountry schools take home four Palmetto's Finest awards
Of the five Palmetto's Finest awards given out on Monday, Lowcountry schools came up one short of a clean sweep.
Dorchester District Two and Berkley County each had two schools deemed the 'finest.' Fort Dorchester Elementary School and Ashley Ridge High School represented DD2 while Hanahan Middle School and Marrington Middle School of the Arts took home honors for Berkley.
Hammond Hill Elementary School of Aiken County was the fifth winning school.
Every spring since 1978, the South Carolina Association of School Administrators acknowledges a small handful of in-state schools that display a confluence of superior instruction, leadership, family support and community involvement.
