Gimme Shelter Announced to Benefit Operation Home

Operation Home announces the 2nd Annual Gimme Shelter presented by Home Team BBQ on Saturday, May 12th at 6pm at the Navy Yard at Noisette, 10 Storehouse Row. The Big Easy comes to the Lowcountry with lively entertainment, funky music from Dikki Du and the Zydeco Krewe and a taste of New Orleans. Prepared by Home Team BBQ Executive Chef Aaron Siegel, the menu is complete with a Crawfish Boil, Jambalaya, Mini Po-Boys as well as a stocked bar with plenty of Hurricanes, Painkillers and more. Tickets are $50 in advance or $60 at the door.  "The Navy Yard at Noisette is Operation Home's new home base and 10 Storehouse Row will be a perfect venue for our Big Easy-inspired event as it is centrally located with tons of free parking," said Executive Director Lisa Potts. "Providing a setting that is creative and urban but not too polished, guests will be able to let their hair down, have an amazing time, and know that all of the funds earned will be used to continue our emergency home repair program throughout
2012."

Operation Home's mission is to help low-income residents of Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties remain in their homes by increasing safety and accessibility through the coordination of critical home repairs. Their work focuses on the people the most in need including households that contain children, people with disabilities or older adults. Since its inception, hundreds of homes have been repaired by Operation Home, totaling in excess of $1 million. Operation Home is committed to ensuring that no person has to live in a home that is inaccessible or dangerous.
