Rock out your weekend with vinyl, bikes, roller derby and then some

A whole lot of awesomeness is rolling into town this weekend, and no, I do not mean the Friday afternoon traffic.

So what's good this weekend? A little bit of everything.

First off, our fair city has been chosen to host the 3rd annual Bike! Bike! Southeast! event. This weekend-long conference is just like BarCamp in the fact that the workshops are proposed and facilitated by attendees. The official schedule of events has been posted, and you can take a look at it the whole shebang right here.

Friday night marks the first ever celebration of Southern streetwear culture with The Big Mix. For the lover of unique t-shirts, sick nasty fitted hats, and cool accessories, this is a must-attend event.

The Lowcountry HighRollers return to their home track on Saturday for the 'Let Them Eat Skate' event in which they'll be taking on the hard-hitting ladies of the Rogue Rollergirls.

Monster Music & Movies will be bringing new and old vinyl fans together on Saturday for the Charleston Record Expo, the first record convention to be held in Charleston in many, many years.

If you're into electronic music, have robot ears, love to dance, and party hard, then you won't want to miss the Home Grown show featuring all of the Electric Friends on Saturday night.

If you're looking to get muddy, rowdy, and rough, then you should register for the Rugged Maniac 5K at Boone Hall Plantation. Combining the most rugged terrain and burly obstacles, this rugged race is not for the faint of heart, frail of body, or weak of mind.

For more events happening in and around Charleston this weekend, be sure to take a look at our complete Event Calendar. For even more on what's happening, be sure to hop over to theĀ Charleston City Paper and check out their weekend round-up too.
