The Charleston Library Society is hosting a book signing event and reception on Tuesday with local author Brian Hicks.

Hicks will be talking about his new book, Toward the Setting Sun, the true story of the trials and tribulations of Cherokee chief John Ross during Indian Removal.

There is a free event being held a noon and a reception at 6 p.m. with a $5 admission.

Both events are to be held at 164 King Street.
