The Upper King Street Design Walk is back, and is accompanied with the launch of Charleston Home Market.
First off, here's a bit about the Design Walk from Charleston Home Market:
Design boutiques, home décor shops, and a selection of other businesses will keep their doors open late to welcome visitors to the District’s Fall Design Walk, presented in association with Charleston Home Market. Enjoy wine and nibbles while you shop at each of the 20 participating stores.
And a bit about Charleston Home Market:
This first-of-its-kind design event features the work of Charleston’s decorative arts designers and craftsmen, offering everything from contemporary furniture and glass to innovative lighting and textiles. A scaled-down, homegrown version of the International Home Furnishings Market in High Point, North Carolina, Charleston Home Market will add a local stop to fall buying trips by pairing Southeastern interior designers, architects, and buyers with Charleston-made goods and the local talents who create them.
Area residents are also encouraged to shop the market and meet the designers, as well as attend lectures and trade demonstrations scheduled throughout the October event. The market seeks to bring attention to the burgeoning talents living right here among us, as well as create a forum to further encourage innovative designs.
Here's the schedule:
- Upper King Design District Fall Design Walk, October 23, 5-8 pm.
The design walk is being held, obviously, on Upper King Street (map); and the home market is at the The Navy Yard at Noisette in North Charleston (map).
We'll see you there!
