Update May 20: What was once a Church’s Chicken on Folly Road is now the spot for a brand new Black Bean Co.
Located at 869 Folly Road, the James Island spot is serving up the usual downtown fare, but has added breakfast options into the mix.
The Charleston City Paper has a brief on the opening; read it here.
Update February 9: Since the grand opening back in September, there hasn't been much said about Black Bean Co. -- until now.
The Charleston City Paper chatted up owner Ellis Grossman about his inspiration for the menu, reviews a handful of wraps, and touches briefly on Grossman's James Island expansion plans.
First reporting: The Charleston City Paper has the exciting post on Black Bean Company, a vegan-friendly, energy food restaurant opening at 116 Spring Street on September 1st.
Black Bean Company is Culinary Institute of Charleston graduate Ellis Grossman's new venture that will serve up healthy wraps, gyros, and salads made from local products - when available.
