Current Electric Vehicles is showing off their line of all-electric cars in Mount Pleasant today and giving folks a chance to come and play with ... err, test drive one.

The event runs on Saturday, January 23, (11 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Sunday (noon to 5) at Mount Pleasant Towne Centre.

The electric cars, presented by Current Electric Vehicles, are coming to the streets of Mount Pleasant and will be making a stop at the Mount Pleasant Towne Centre.

Consumers will have their first opportunity to experience the fun and functionality of these city electric vehicles. This event is part of the introduction of the no emission vehicle to U.S. consumers and is starting in the Charleston area.

This event will show consumers how the vehicle is an eye-opening alternative to everything you know about personal transportation: no gas, no emissions, long range, fast charging, zippy acceleration… and affordable

The event will feature:

• A dozen vehicles for media and consumer test-drives on a closed course
• The opportunity for consumers to register to win prizes, including one of the vehicles for 1 week
• Interactive displays and demonstrations
