Banksy, the British street artist with an international reputation for pulling illegal stunts has found a medium other than graffiti to tell his story and it will be premiering on the Terrace Theater's screens starting this Friday, June 25th.
The new Banksy documentary Exit Through The Gift Shop looks back through hours of footage shot by Frenchman Thierry Guetta - footage that Banksy takes control of in order to chronicle his career and the works of fellow street artists. It's still up for debate whether or not the film is a hoax in itself, but hey, that's true Banksy fashion.
Banksy's artworks are often satirical pieces on the topics of politics, culture, and ethics. It's no surprise then Exit Through The Gift Shop asks the viewer to contemplate the serious societal questions of authenticity, fame and culture's desire to judge, and monetize talent.
