Update May 18: Check out our coverage from opening night.

First reporting:

After months of rumors, Eye Level Art is finally unveiling its new gallery and event space with a "Fiesta" on Saturday, May 16th, at 103 Spring Street.

Come out and help christen their new space while enjoying food from Santi's, Margaritas, and music. Word is they've done some pretty interesting things with the old space, we'll be dropping by soon for an early look.

The event runs from 7 to 11 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door, or get two tickets for $15 when you buy them in advance at eTix.com. The new space is at 103 Spring Street in downtown Charleston.

Update May 14:

I caught up with Adrienne Antonson from Eye Level Art at their new location. -- It's such an amazing space and will be a great addition to the city.

The new space is an unasumming cement block building that was last an auto repair shop. The large rectangular "gallery" space is formed on one side by the front facade of a home  built in the late 1800's. And the backyard has been transformed into an oasis; there is going to be a graffiti wall and koi ponds formed in old "bait tanks" uncovered (if you're looking at the photos below, those are the blue squares) under mounds of trash.

According to Adrienne, they see the space evolving "organically." At the opening party they are going to have a suggestion area so they can hear from everyone on how they see the space functioning and what kind of events they are interested in.

They're all ears, and we can't wait for the next party!
