A free orchestra and food truck pairing in Hampton Park

The Charleston Symphony’s top brass and percussion are playing a free concert tonight, September 21, at 5:30 p.m. in Hampton Park.

Also on scene will be many of Charleston's food trucks: Foodie Truck, Hello My Name Is BBQ, Roti Rolls, and Dulce Truck. Picnics, lawn chairs, and blankets are welcomed (no seating provided). No glass or alcohol.

Music from Bach, Mozart, and Gershwin will be featured along with Emmy Award-winning composer Anthony DiLorenzo. DiLorenzo’s music is performed throughout the world by symphony orchestras and chamber groups, including The San Francisco Symphony, The New World Symphony, The Louisiana Philharmonic, The Utah Symphony, The Tokyo Symphony, and The Boston Pops Orchestra. Burning River Brass under the direction of Feza Zweifel, regularly performs Anthony’s works in their concerts. You can also hear his music weekly on ABC's College Football, ice skating, horse racing and countless cues for ESPN, HBO, FOX, and numerous campaigns for NBC (listen here). 

For the past twelve years DiLorenzo has composed more than 80 film trailers, including: Toy Story, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Red Dragon, The Lost World, Final Fantasy, Fools Gold, Bee Story andThe Simpsons Movie in 3D. Recently, Anthony was commissioned by conductor Naoto Otomo and the Tokyo Symphony to compose a concerto grosso for brass quintet and orchestra. The quintet titled Chimerawas performed by the world famous Center City Brass Quintet and was received with rave reviews. Anthony DiLorenzo   Balthazar (A King's Journey)Baltazar (A Kings Journey) was commissioned in 2002 by the Carmel (California) Music Society to celebrate the Spanish heritage of the city of the city of Monterey.  It tells the story of King Baltazar, one of the biblical three wise men who traveled to visit the baby Jesus.
