A family-friendly Charleston Pride Festival parade coming to King Street

(Updates at the bottom.)

The Charleston Pride Festival has announced that their event will be held from July 29th until August 4th.

The parade and rally will be downtown this year, while the rally will again be at Brittlebank Park.

More information will be released on the official Facebook page as the event nears, you can also check out Holy City Sinner's update.

Update February 3: NBC News 2 caught up with festival organizers to make a video report about this year's festival and the big change of moving the parade from North Charleston to downtown Charleston.

Festival organizers seem keen to point out that the parade will seek to show the family-friendly side of the LGBT community and say the parade will continue to be far different and more toned down from iconic gay pride parades.

Check out the video report at NBC News 2's website or up top.

The parade will begin just before the AIken-Rhett House on Ann Street then moving to King Street to Broad Street and over to end at Colonial Lake.

A start time has yet to be announced.
