MUSC Children's Hospital is looking for locals who are willing to grow their beard from February 1 to March 1.

Look, you probably won't get any ladies while you're growing it out, but, thanks to the button, they probably won't jab their heal into you either.Here's the deal, on March 2 there will be a judging contest for the scruffiest beard, pre-teen beard, best mustache, etc. And to make sure everyone is clean shaven at the start (and just have a good time) there will be a kick-off party on Saturday, January 31, from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Bus Shed downtown (behind the Visitor Center). Admission is $25 for non-beard growers.

Beard growers will also get a social pass thanks to the "My Stubble's for Kids in Trouble" button they'll receive.
