Windwood Farm Home for Children will open their gates to the public on Saturday, November 6th to celebrate the first Firefly Distillery Southern Spirit Festival, a blues and bluegrass festival to raise awareness and funds for the non-profit, which provides residential support to boys throughout South Carolina that have been abused or neglected.

The Southern Spirit Festival will run from 12 to 7 p.m. and tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Children 10 and under are free.

Musical entertainment includes the 2010 BMA Traditional Blues Album of the year winner, James “Super Chikan” Johnson, Larry Keel & Natural Bridge, Holy Ghost Tent Revival, The Donna Hughes Band, Jeff Norwood, Blue Mother Tupelo and Triple Lindy, will join together on two outdoor stages to fill the air with great blues and bluegrass entertainment.

The event will offer something for the entire family, including a kid’s zone with a jump castle, climbing wall, face painting and a tailgating area so the football fans out there won’t miss their favorite games of the day.

Windwood Farm Home for Children is located at 4857 Windwood Farm Road in Awendaw.
