Guerilla gardening meets Charleston

The concept of "guerrilla gardening" to somewhat spontaneously add plants and generally beautify unused and neglected spaces will be introduced to Charleston on Thursday, October 9, from 5 to 9 p.m.

A New Leaf Studio is hosting a Guerilla Gardening Party in celebration of their one-year anniversary and to advocate the time to take local action. Owner and designer Annie Mueller has invited guests to join her in hitting the streets of the Elliotborough Neighborhood, cleaning up the streets and planting flowers to be enjoyed all year long. Grab your gardening glove and call in advance to RSVP: (843) 720-8675.

Be sure to check out her blog to see what Annie has in store for the Charleston Garden Festival at Middleton Plantation, which kicks off with a festive party October 16th and runs through October 19th.

Hop over to The Post and Courier for more on the guerrilla gardening event.
