Update December 3:

The Summerville Journal Scene was there and has some pictures and a short write-up.

Bummed out that you missed it? Don't shed too many tears as you can still catch Charleston's on Saturday or Mount Pleasant's on Sunday.

First reporting:

Summerville's season of Christmas festivities gets going on Tuesday, December 1, with its annual Christmas tree lighting.

The event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Summerville Town Hall with music by the Summerville High School Band and Chorus and remarks by Berlin G. Myers, mayor of Summerville.

The Summerville Journal Scene has some more details on the tree lighting.

Festivities continue in the following weeks with a parade on December 13.
