Just as the Annual Town of Mount Pleasant Blessing of the Fleet kicks off the local shrimp season with hopes of a plentiful bounty, this Thursday's Big Shrimp’n 2011 will celebrate and offer an opportunity to enjoy the season’s catch.
Local chefs will work their magic in the kitchen to create sample-size local shrimp dishes which will be sold at $1 each. Who will walk away with bragging rights to the Best Shrimp Dish East of the Cooper? You be the judge.
Big Shrimp'n 2011 is set to take place at Mount Pleasant's Alhambra Hall from 5 to 10 p.m. There will be live music from the David Higgins Band and the Southwood Band, and the event itself is will benefit East Cooper Community Outreach and the South Carolina Shrimpers Association.
