The Glass Onion restaurant will celebrate their featured wine for March – Hedges Sauvignon Blanc – with a sampling on Monday, February 28th.

From 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. they will offer a taste of this intriguing Washington white, to all interested diners.

This sustainable beauty comes from the Columbia Valley region of Washington and features a blend of sauvignon blanc, chardonnay and marsanne. It boasts a creamy richness balanced by notes of citrus. Being extremely food friendly this wine pairs well with many of the Glass Onion’s local, all natural offerings, such as Country Captain.

Featuring Hedges Sauvignon Blanc throughout March will provide a perfect lead up to the Glass Onion’s wine dinner with Hedges on Thursday, March 24th. The dinner will celebrate the restaurant’s third anniversary and will pair the Hedges portfolio with Lowcountry cuisine. Boo Walker, national sales representative from Hedges and South Carolina native, will be on hand to discuss the wines at the anniversary dinner.

The Glass Onion, a West Ashley restaurant located at 1219 Savannah Highway, offers a “green” wine list that focuses on small production wineries that use environmentally friendly practices. Customers can enjoy these boutique bottles at half the cost on Mondays for dine-in and carry-out and at half the cost every day with a carry-out order.

The seasonal, local eatery places utmost importance on quality ingredients and sees the wine list as a natural extension of their culinary practices. The full wine list and daily menu can be found at www.ilovetheglassonion.com.
